If utilizing Referral Sources (CONFIGURE SYSTEM SETTINGS > PATIENT > REFERRAL SOURCES) clinics can create REFERRAL CATEGORIES to which each available Referral Source can be associated.
For example:
A local paper called "Our Town News" may be the REFERRAL SOURCE.
The REFERRAL CATEGORY may be "Print Media".
The REFERRAL TYPE may be "Newspaper".
Or the REFERRAL CATEGORY may be "Physician".
The REFERRAL TYPES may be "GP" or "Pediatrician".
Or the REFERRAL CATEGORY may be "ENT"
The REFERRAL TYPES may be "Balance Specialist", "Speech Specialist" or "Audio Specialist."
Then, within any Referral Sources a REFERRAL CATEGORY and REFERRAL TYPE can be assigned.
The screen prompts are:
REFERRAL CATEGORY - Enter the Referral Category.
TYPES - Accessing the window for TYPES launches the window for entering REFERRAL TYPES associated to this REFERRAL CATEGORY.
Click CONTINUE to save the Referral Category Types and return to the previous window.
Click SAVE to store the changes.
Click EXIT to close the window.
