There are two ways to complete an Inventory Transfer in Manage. The first option is the INVENTORY TRANSFER function. It allows an instant transfer of products from one location to another. The second way to complete a Inventory Transfer is in 2 Step Inventory Transfers.
To start a new Transfer, leave the TRANSFER NUMBER field blank and press your enter key. The system then generates a new TRANSFER NUMBER to associate to this transfer. The Transfer Date will default to the system date and the Clerk will populate based on the user logged in.
Next indicate the FROM LOCATION that the product/ products is being transferred from.
Now indicate the TO LOCATION that the product/ products is being transferred to.
Use the ADD icon to add your product/ products to be included with this TRANSFER NUMBER. (Note:If using a bar code scanner, scan the bar code while the cursor is in this field. The associated product number to the scanned bar code will populate. (Note: when using a scanning device, make sure that the device setting "carriage return" or "line feed" has been turned ON. This allows the assumption of the ENTER KEY to be applied after scanning a bar code.) Select the quantity to be transferred. (The system will check to ensure that the FROM location indeed has the quantity necessary to complete the transfer.)
Use the CHANGE or DELETE icons as needed per line. Use the INSERT button to insert a line for a product between other existing lines.
Note: if transferring a serialized product, the quantity will default to 1 and you will be prompted to select from the list of available serial numbers which serial number is to be transferred.
When finished adding products to this TRANSFER NUMBER, press CONTINUE to save the transfer transaction.
Next you are asked if you wish to Generate Inventory Transfer. Saying NO will return you to the previous details screen. Saying YES will generate the transfer.
Next you are asked if you wish to print the packing slip. Indicate YES or NO.
You will be offered a transfer slip printout (or packing slip). Once you have pressed "CONTINUE", the system processes the necessary product transfers and assumes receipt of those products at the receiving location immediately.
